We’re big. Like revolutionizing an entire industry around the world big. We’re known for our expertise in operating world-class mountain resorts, but when you dig a little deeper, we’re more than that. A lot more.
And, while we may be big, we don’t overlook the details. We’re continuously improving and investing in our resorts, lodging properties and other lines of business in order to provide our guests and our employees with an Experience of a Lifetime, conserve our natural resources and better the communities in which we operate.

At Whistler Blackcomb we're also the biggest. WB shares the stage with Vail Mountain itself for the title of biggest resort in the portfolio. At 8171 skiable acres of terrain, with a mountain bike park, the longest contuous lift system in the world for sightseers and over 50 km of hiking trails, this is one of North Americas top mountain resorts.

In December of 2017, Vail Resorts announced it would make this resort even more prominent with a $66Million investment in on-hill capital improvements. The challenge was daunting. We had just one year to transform the mountain with a string of new projects, and do it while remaining operational. Now one year out from the "summer of construction," the impact is amazing. Whistler Blackcomb is now home to:
  • A new Blackcomb Gondola, ensuring ski school classes can now travel together up the 16-minute ride from the Upper Village to the Rendezvous Lodge
  • The longest continous lift system in the world, a 13.5 km three-gondola trip which allows skiers, snowboarders, hikers and snowboarders to take a one hour trip up one mountain across to the other and back down to the valley floor
  • A suspension bridge and viewing platform at the Peak of Whistler, dubbed the Cloudraker Skybridge and Raven's Eye Viewing Platform
  • The new 360 Experience for Summer Sightseers which allows one to enjoy the record-breaking PEAK 2 PEAK Gondola, Blackcomb Gondola and Whistler Village Gondola loop, plus the Cloudraker and Raven's Eye, and 50km of hiking all on one ticket
  • Creekside Zone, a brand new 15 trail section of the Whistler Mountain Bike Park
  • Shorter lift lines in Whistler's Family Zone, thanks to the Emerald Express Chairlift
  • More accessible glades on the face of Blackcomb, owing to the upgrades to the Catskinner chairlift on Blackcomb
  • Plus, new hiking trail upgrades, the Roundhouse Umbrella Bar and more...
There is so much new at Whistler Blackcomb, it's hard to remember we really prefer to talk about what matters. For over 20 years, this resort has focused its energy on cultivating sustainable business practices and we've taken that mindset companywide. In addition to being named a BC Hydro Power Smart Leader, one of Canada's Greenest Employers (11 years running), and earning more than 30 awards for our sustainability programs, Rob Katz named Whistler a key influencer when he announced Vail Resorts would aim for Zero Operating Footprint by 2030.
So what’s on the horizon? You’ll notice on our gondolas we’re incorporating art from our indigenous communities. Improving our relationship with Nations on whose traditional territory we operate is a top priority for Whistler Blackcomb. We’re working to eliminate the barriers to employment for the Squamish and Lil’Wat people, ensuring we recognize the land on which we operate whenever we gather and share the stories of these cultures as part of our business. We’re also focusing on our strength in the mountain industry—our ability to innovate. At Whistler Blackcomb you will notice we are always on the lookout for the next big storm and the next big challenge.
