ROSE HALL, Jamaica, July 12, 2011 - In a bid to strengthen its stake in the lucrative romance business Half Moon, A RockResort located in Rose Hall, Jamaica, has assembled a Master Wedding Planning team with a combined 40 years of planning experience.
Led by the resort’s Master Wedding Planners, couples getting married at the 56-year-old legendary Jamaican resort benefit from the hands-on attention of a dedicated florist, cake designer, executive chef, cabinet makers, upholsters and events team.
Half Moon’s chief wedding architect, Myrtle Dwyer, has assembled a wide rangeof expertise to ensure all possible resources are available to brides and grooms getting married at the beachfront resort.
“Since our foray into the destination wedding business some 20 years ago we’ve seen destination weddings evolve for quickie elopement ceremonies to an over $16 billion business from the US alone,” Ms. Dwyer said. Since its first destination wedding at the fabled Sugar Mill Restaurant for a small party of 10, wedding specialists at Half Moon have staged over 2,000 wedding events at the 400-acre estate for parties as intimate as two to large extravaganzas exceeding 200 guests.
According to the master wedding planners at Half Moon, couples are staging more than one event for their destination wedding. “Our couples are having at least three events for their guests – rehearsal dinner, wedding ceremony and reception as well as a farewell brunch. Having our own creative team on-hand allows us to customize these events with little effort,” said Andrea Smith, one of Half Moon’s master wedding planners.
Couples getting married at Half Moon are assigned a personal Master Wedding Planner to coordinate every aspect of the wedding event from start-to-finish. Together with the extended master wedding planning team they organize, direct and arrange all stages of the couple’s wedding celebration from airport transfers, customized itineraries, securing vendors and décor, menu planning, sourcing props and sorting out the legalities among other requirements. By the end of the wedding celebration the bride and groom feel they have a trusted friend in their wedding planner.
“It is important that we distinguish the destination wedding services offered at Half Moon,” Ms. Dwyer said. ”We pride ourselves on creating custom celebrations for our couples and as such do not offer off-the-shelf, pre-arranged wedding concepts for our couples.” According to Ms. Dwyer, couples can select from competitively priced offerings from which they can design their wedding celebration.
In addition to fully customised weddings, couples can choose the Allure wedding offer that includes décor, flowers, catering, entertainment, photography, planning and legalities for a 50-member wedding party. Price for the Allure wedding is US$17,000 for both the ceremony and reception; accommodations are additional. The resort’s One Love, Laughter and Always and Forever offers are designed for smaller wedding parties of up to 20 persons and include bouquet for the bride, boutonniere for the groom, wedding cake, photography and videography. Rates range for US$1,750, US$2,050 and US$4,000 respectively. Tax and service charge are additional.
